McDonald’s Restaurants (NZ) Limited – Resource consent for drive-through restaurant in Ōrākei granted

The Greenwood Roche resource management team, led by Partner Francelle Lupis, successfully obtained consent for McDonald’s Restaurants (NZ) Limited to construct and operate a drive-through restaurant on Kepa Road, Ōrākei, Auckland.

Resource consent has been granted for a 24/7 drive-through restaurant at 152 Kepa Road, Ōrākei, following a publicly notified application and public hearing. The site is located in the Business – Mixed Use zone under the Auckland Unitary Plan and the proposal received over 300 submissions raising a variety of matters.

The reporting team on behalf of Auckland Council recommended that the application be declined primarily due to potential effects on the transport network. The application was nevertheless granted by an Independent Hearings Panel who found the effects of the proposal in this location to be acceptable subject to consent conditions.
