Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment: Liability settings reform
The Greenwood Roche advised MBIE on the legislative reform which will replace joint and several liability with proportionate liability
The Government has announced that it will amend the Building Act to replace joint and several liability with proportionate liability. This reform forms part of what the Government describes as "the biggest change to the building consent system since the Building Act came into force in 2004".
The Greenwood Roche construction team provided advice to the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment on this reform.
